STORY SNAPSHOT

What this short drama is about

Shen Ruoxi, a student at Jingbei University, was dealt the worst possible hand in life. Her father Shen Guohua was a compulsive gambler. He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage at the gambling table, drained all the family savings before passing away, and left behind gambling debts worth eight hundred thousand yuan. Her mother favored boys over girls and forced her to drop out and work, so she could reserve resources for her brother Shen Junlin, who had failed the college entrance exam three times. Her boyfriend Cheng Qiaoxuan treated her like an ATM, demanding an over-eight-thousand-yuan watch as his birthday gift. On the day debt collectors showed up, her mother hid behind her daughter and told the thugs: "I have no money. Go ask my daughter." In despair, Shen Ruoxi turned down Cheng Qiaoxuan’s unreasonable demand, exposed his hypocrisy in public, and got back the twenty thousand yuan she earned tutoring. This made Cheng Qiaoxuan burn with hatred. On the brink of expulsion as tuition payment deadline loomed, fate handed her a lottery ticket. The random ticket she bought won the first prize — twenty million yuan landed in her account overnight. Instead of flaunting her wealth right away, she kept a low profile, pretending to be an ordinary student to hide the fortune. Yet troubles kept coming. Her fake best friend Gu Qingning tricked her into working as a hostess at a nightclub to earn quick cash, intending to ruin her reputation. Inside the private room, she met Ji Yiyan, who had just returned from overseas to take over as group CEO. Ji Yiyan tested her with the line "Ten thousand yuan per cup", then proposed a sky-high deal in his car: bear him an heir, and she would get fifty million yuan in compensation, a director position in his group and any property downtown. Faced with this seemingly irresistible offer, Shen Ruoxi turned it down firmly — she refused to sell her life to the highest bidder.
