Seraphina and her sister‑in‑law conceive at the same time. Husband Damien prioritizes his widowed sister‑in‑law’s male heir. He drugs Seraphina to stall her labor and locks her in the basement to perish. Using a hidden emergency device, she fakes her death and flees, reclaiming her identity as a mafia family’s eldest daughter. She and her father dismantle the Ross household. When ruined Damien kneels begging mercy, she unveils who she truly is.
